Rules and Guidelines

Below you will find information for dates, rules, and our divisions for Cosplayado! Please make sure to read all the rules and  follow them during your time competing!

Sign-Ups: August 20 - September 20
Acceptance/Rejection Emails: September 1 - September 22
Photos posted to page: September 25

Judging Period: September 21 - September 27

Contest Livestream: September 27


Requirements:
-2 High quality photos of your costume
-PDF or google drive link to WIP portfolio [no limit to progress photo number]
-30 Second[max] video of you or a model in the costume
-2 references photos


Rules:
-Cosplay must be PG rated; no mature materia, no nudity, no overly revealing costumes.
-Entrants must be above the age of 18.
-Entrants must be a resident of the United States; no international entries at this time.
-One entry per contestant.
-Duos are allowed for this competition, but please remember to follow social distancing as best as you can if you are recording your video for this competition; you may use an older video of your entry if you would like! No groups larger than two will be accepted.

-Depending on the amount of entries received, we may or may not air the videos sent in due to time constraints. We apologize for this. Photos of your costume will still be aired during the contest stream!

-We will be conducting portfolio checks for our competition. Please keep this in mind when submitting your entries!
-Original characters are not allowed for this competition; designs such as Hannah Alexander, Sunset Dragon, etc. are allowed, but please include references for the version of the costume you are portraying.
-Awards for our competition do not count as major contest awards, as we are not a convention; we consider the awards for our competition to count as minor awards.
-Please keep in mind to enter the proper division. We reserve the right to bump divisions if we feel you do not belong in the category you have signed up for.
-If you derive a large amount of income from cosplay or crafting, you must enter the Master division.
-You may enter cosplays that have won minor or major awards, as we are not a major competition.
-All requirements for entering[photos, portfolio, etc] must be submitted, or your entry will be rejected and you will be disqualified.

-Entrants must be prepared to answer the following in 100 words or less for our judges:
-What materials were used in the costume’s creation?
-What parts of the costume were created by you?
-Are there any specific details or fun facts you would like to let our judges know about your costume?




Entry qualifications:

Novice:

-50% made by you
-No more than two major awards
-Less than three years crafting experience

​

Intermediate:
[20 SPOTS]
-70% made by you
-No more than four major awards
-Less than five years crafting experience

​

Master:
[20 SPOTS]
-90% made by you
-more than four major awards
-more than five years crafting experience
